PALS information for disabled people

printemailfacebooktwitter

We have recently worked with members of the public who have a range of impairments including learning difficulties, deafness and mental health problems to produce eye-catching and accessible leaflets as well as a video which explains, using real-life stories and British Sign Language (BSL), how PALS can help people get what they need from the NHS.

See real-life examples of how PALS has helped people

An example of the leaflets we have produced is below (click to enlarge).

Leaflets

You can download our leaflets in Adobe PDF format below. Each one tells a different patient’s story and how PALS was able to help them.

I was unhappy with my NHS treatment
I could not get an NHS dentist
I felt stuck between my GP and the hospital
Hospital reception could not communicate with me
A relative from overseas needed urgent medical care
My operation was cancelled four times

Videos

We have also produced these stories in video format with BSL for the deaf and hard of hearing and subtitles for those with visual impairments. Click on the image to play the video.
